Fabrizio Cecci was born on the 23rd of June, 1964 in Città di Castello.

- 1987: he obtained a law degree from the University of Studies of Perugia;
- 1990: he worked as a civil defense lawyer (general attorney);
- 1991: he obtained a doctorate in Canonical law from the Lateran Papal University (the Vatican City);
- 1992: he worked as a Rotal attorney, and for the Supreme Court of the Highest Papal Court;
- 1993: he worked as an attorney for the Vatican City;
- 2002: he was Legal Counsel for the Defense in the Court of Cassation (Italy);
- 2003: he received a diploma of specialization in International Law (Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Studies on International Community) from the Lateran Papal University (the Vatican City).
- 2009: he obtained a doctorate in Oriental Canonical law from the Pontifical Oriental Institute (Rome).
